CHICAGO - The UIC volleyball team will continue a five-match homestand on Tuesday evening when it welcomes the University of Evansville Purple Aces to the Physical Education Building for a non-conference match at 7 p.m.

The Flames (6-5) opened the homestand in fine fashion on Friday night with a straight-set victory over the Youngstown State Penguins in the Horizon League lid-lifter. The victory marked the third straight for the Flames and the fifth in the last seven matches.

The following afternoon was a much different story. UIC sputtered out of the gate and struggled to get into any sort of rhythm on Saturday as they dropped match against undefeated Cleveland State, 3-0. The Flames hit just .056 as a team in the contest and no player registered double-digit kills for the home team.

Evansville (11-2) comes to town in the midst of its best start in school history. The Purple Aces lost at Michigan State on opening weekend and on their home floor this past Saturday night against Creighton. At one point, head coach Mike Swan's team rattled off nine straight wins was victorious in 21 straight sets.

Evansville is led by senior middle hitter Emily Wandersee who has done it on both the offensive and defensive sides. The St. Louis, Mo. native has a team-high 162 kills in 2010 to go along with 50 blocks. Junior Brooke Maher also has 146 kills for the Purple Aces.

Tuesday's match will commence at 7 p.m. inside the UIC Physical Education Building. General admission is $6 and UIC students with a valid i-Card are admitted free. The game will also be shown live on the Horizon League Network.
