Nov. 4, 2011

CHICAGO - The UIC men's and women's swimming & diving teams face off against conference opponent Milwaukee, with the women's squad also taking on Illinois, Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT), at the Flames Natatorium.

UIC is coming off an impressive win against Eastern Illinois last Saturday (Oct. 29) at the Padovan Pool, where both squads increased their season record to 2-0.

Not only were 21-of-22 first-place finishes achieved, but three pool records were broken. Melanie Waszak and Zach Van Swol, along with the women's 200 medley relay team, set records at the Padovan Pool against Eastern Illinois. Waszak competed with the 200 medley relay team that broke the pool record in 1:50.04 and set her own in the 100 butterfly in 58.38. Taking a look at the line-up for the men's squad, the Flames face fierce competition against the reigning Horizon League champions. The Panthers hold a 4-0 record and are 1-0 against Horizon League opponents, putting up top performances against previous competitors.
