CHICAGO - The UIC baseball team scored in each inning they played on Tuesday night to cruise past the Chicago State Cougars at Les Miller Field, 15-0 in seven innings.

UIC (20-16) scored early and often on Tuesday night, batting around and plating six runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Flames recorded five hits and coaxed a pair of walks of Chicago State (5-27) starter Jonathan Carpen and reliever Caleb Fialka. Jason Ganek and Jon Ryan notched RBI doubles in the frame, while Josh Nevers delivered a two-run single which allowed Andy Leonard and Harry Kammholz to touch the dish. When the inning finally ended, UIC had sent 11 batters to the plate and held a 6-0 lead.

The home-nine added another pair of runs in the second inning off Fialka. Kammholz placed a single in where no one could get to it in shallow left center field to allow Ryan and Leonard to score and stretch the lead to eight after two innings of play.

With one out and one on in the third inning, Nick Addison put a charge into a ball that sailed over the left field fence and extended the lead to 10-0 in favor of the Flames. John Coen scored the lone run in the fifth inning. In the sixth, UIC put another crooked number on the scoreboard, scoring three times. Alex De LaRosa had an RBI double down the right field line and Leonard deposited a pitch from reliever Andrew Watson over the left field fence with a runner aboard to make it 14-0 in favor of the Flames after five innings at The Mill.

In the sixth inning, Addison delivered his second home run of the ballgame, another towering blast over the left field wall. It was the first multi-home run game of Addison's career and the first for a UIC player since Chris Rutta and Serna both accomplished the feat last season against Butler on April 10, 2010.

Leonard went 4-for-5 at the dish with three runs scored. Even his lone out was a hard-hit ball in the form of a deep fly ball to the warning track in left center field to end the sixth.

Collin Weyer (2-0) earned the win by tossing three scoreless innings to start the game. The right-hander allowed two hits while walking one and striking out one. Tim Suminski added two scoreless innings of his own, tying a career-high with five strike outs in the process. Chris Hoffman wrapped up the contest with a pair of scoreless innings, as well.

The Flames will hit the road for a pair of Horizon League doubleheaders this weekend. UIC will play Wright State twice on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. CT. On Sunday, the Flames will square off against the Youngstown State Penguins in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. CT.
