EVANSTON, Ill. - The UIC women's tennis team closed out its three-day stint at the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday and combined for nine wins through singles and doubles. UIC had four players compete in the Black Flight with Zuzu, senior Keti Mebuke, freshman Melika LeBlanc and junior Ann-Sophie Hahn producing seven wins.

After falling in her first match to Florida International's Katie Brozovich (7-5, 6-1), Zuzu won her next three matches against Michigan State's Coleen O'Brien (3-6, 6-4, 7-5), Western Michigan's Yuriko Ono (3-6, 6-4, 10-5) and Eastern Michigan's Alejandra Barcelo Almoyna (6-0, 6-4). Zuzu advanced all the way to the consolation final of the Black Flight, but she ultimately dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Oklahoma's Ann Pepper.

Mebuke posted a winning record in singles for the second-consecutive tournament as she won her first two matches against Michigan State's Emmy Virkus (6-1, 6-1) and Western Michigan's Barbare Eristavi (5-7, 6-4, 6-3) before falling to Northwestern's Erin Larner (6-4, 6-3).

LeBlanc came away with a 1-2 record with a straight-set win against Western Michigan's Ella Perinovic (6-1, 6-2) while she fell to Oklahoma's Emma Devine (6-0, 6-3) and Michigan State's Emily Meyers (6-3, 6-4).

While she suffered a 6-0, 6-1 loss to DePaul's Rebeca Mitrea to open play, Hahn blanked Kentucky's Grace Trimble (6-0, 6-0) before coming up short in her final match against Pittsburgh's Molly Wickman (6-4, 6-1).

In doubles, UIC tabbed two wins as the pairing of Manole and Zuzu defeated Western Michigan's Petrovska and Perinovic (8-7, 3) before Zuzu combined with Hahn to take down Michigan State's duo of O'Brien and Virkus (8-6).

Manole and Zuzu additionally dropped their match against Pittsburgh's Wickman and Washington (8-5), with the team of Hahn and Zuzu falling to the split team of Northwestern's Rischbieth and Pittsburgh's Frey (8-1).

Mebuke competed alongside LeBlanc but fell to DePaul's Shupenia and Mitrea (8-2). Manole and Mebuke were taken down by Kentucky's Lanier and Lederman (8-3), as Hahn rounded out competition by competing with Frey (Pitt) and suffered an 8-4 loss to Michigan State's Meyers and Baylis.
