CHICAGO - On Monday (Dec. 12), UIC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President Kendall Wilde, Vice President Carla Salvato and Secretary Kyle Hamann headed to the west side of campus with members of the Athletics staff to present the UI Hospital Pediatric Care Unit with a collection of gifts.
Over the past month, the Flames brought in donations that would help make the holiday season brighter for the children staying at the hospital. Pepsi generously provided an XBOX One, which will be used in the center's playroom. In total, the Flames delivered games and extra equipment for the system, movies and Legos.
"We're so proud that we were able to be a part of this," said Senior Associate Athletic Director
Denny Wills, who has coordinated the effort with the hospital for several years. "Everyone that gave money to this project made a big difference in the lives of a lot of kids."
