Lemont, Ill. - The women's golf team fired a season best 321 on Saturday afternoon in the annual UIC Fall Shootout at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. The Flames battled teams from Southern Illinois, Bradley and Horizon League foe Green Bay.
The course setup was based on the 2015 NCAA East Region of 6,225 yards, par 72. Sophomore
Kelly Sterling tied for seventh on the leaderboard with a 78, six over par, to lead the Flames. Juniors
Bailey Bostler (80) and
Jennifer Kim (81) placed among the top 12 while sophomore
Meghan Kramp finished tied for 16
th with an 82.
"I am really pleased with our progress today," said head coach
Carol Rhoades. "I am very encouraged with our young team and their ability to persevere throughout the round. We will continue to focus on eliminating holes with scores over bogey."

Shannon Menard each fired a 91 to round out the team scoring.
UIC returns to the links on Monday as part of the Loyola Fall Invitational. The two-day, eight-team event begins with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start at the Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill. The course is a par 72, 6,112 yards.
