LAKE MARY, Fla. -- The UIC women's golf team teed off their spring season on Tuesday, March 14 at the Seminole State Spring Break Invitational in Lake Mary, Florida.
Unfortunately, the long winter layoff, and a strong wind throughout the day combined to take an early toll on the Flames. Junior Bailey Bolster paced the squad with a solid score of 82.
UIC interim head coach
Mat Blair took it in stride. "For the first round of the season, we were a little the rusty," said Blair. "The wind played havoc with the golf ball today. I know the ladies are not happy with their results from today, which is a good thing for us as a team."
Round two resumes on Wednesday morning with a chance to start knocking off the rust moving forward. "We are a month in a half away from conference and I feel like we can make great stride in that time," said Blair.
UIC individual first round scores:
Bailey Bostler - 82
Kelly Sterling - 93
Meghan Kramp - 94
Courteney Fabbri - 96
Brittany Norem - 101
