LAKE MARY, Fla. -- The UIC golf team concluded the spring season's first competition Wednesday at the Seminole State Invitational in Lake Mary, Florida. The squad shaved seven strokes from the cumulative first-day score and the Flames finished ninth overall carding a 357.
"We improved from day one," said UIC interim head coach
Mat Blair. "We have a basis now on what our team needs to work on and we'll get working on that right away."
UIC junior
Bailey Bostler finished strong with an 80 and Wednesday. Coupled with her 82 on Tuesday, the Lake in the Hills, Ill., native was the top individual finisher for the Flames as she checked in at 15
th place for the tournament. Junior
Meghan Kramp's made a big leap on day two, as she fired an 85, which was good for a nine-stroke improvement from day one.
The Flames will have two weeks to sharpen things up, prior to the next outing at the Bradley Spring Invitational, held at WeaverRidge Country Club in Peoria, Ill., on April 1-2.
