CHICAGO – After three straight weekends on the road, the Flames (4-6) return to the Chicagoland area to play its first mid-week game of the season on Tuesday afternoon at Northwestern (2-8). First pitch in Evanston, Ill., is slated for 3 p.m. CT.
UIC has lost three straight after dropping a heartbreaking 11-10 decision at Missouri on Sunday. The Flames allowed a game-winning, walk-off solo home run in the ninth inning after battling back from a four run deficit to tie the game in the eighth.
Cody Bohanek led the way for the Flames with three hits and three RBI in the contest.
The Flames and Wildcats are facing each other for the 63
rd time with Northwestern holding a 21-40-1 record in the all-time series. UIC won all three meetings last year by scores of 11-2, 7-0 and 5-4. The teams will battle two more times this season on March 21 in Evanston, Ill. and April 4 at Granderson Stadium.
