PEORIA, Ill. -- UIC sophomore
Meghan Kramp fired a career-best 78 in Saturday morning's opening round of the Bradley Spring Break Invitational to lead the Flames at Weaver Ridge Golf Club in Peoria.
Junior
Bailey Bostler, carded a solid 80 in the morning round, and the Flames total of 332 was only good enough for 9
th place in the session.
"The ladies played much better today," observed UIC head coach
Mat Blair. "Our game plan from the practice round paid off, but we still need more work on the short game.
"I'm really proud of Meghan [Kramp] for her effort today," added Blair.
The afternoon round was cut in half to only nine holes due to an morning frost delay which shortened the early round.
The Flames are off to a good start on the second round, which will resume on Sunday. Current scores are: Kramp 41,
Kelly Sterling 41, Bostler 43,
Courteney Fabbri 44, and
Brittany Norem 46.
