CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (15-5, 6-1 HL) will bring the regular season to a close this weekend when it welcomes Detroit Mercy (9-10, 5-2 HL) and Oakland (7-11, 3-4 HL) to the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts. The Flames will first take on the Titans Saturday before going up against the Golden Grizzlies Sunday, with both matches slated to begin at 10 a.m. CT. On Saturday, UIC will additionally honor
Oana Manole for Senior Day.

The Flames remain at home following a 2-0 output last weekend against Milwaukee, 4-3, and Green Bay, 7-0. The victories marked five straight for UIC as it moved into a three-way tie for first place in the Horizon League standings with Youngstown State and Cleveland State.

The singles courts were where the Flames were most effective on the weekend as they took 10 wins.
Oana Manole,
Georgie Sanders,
Rachel Le Comber and
Miranda Rodriguez Diaz de Leon all went undefeated in their singles matches, with Manole and Sanders taking their wins at the top two positions.

UIC has produced 28 singles wins against conference opponents this season with Le Comber turning out a perfect 7-0 record at No. 5 and Rodriguez Diaz de Leon following with a mark of 6-1, as Manole (No. 1), Sanders (No. 2) and
Bianca Zuzu (No. 3) all have four wins. In total, the teams has 65 wins on the year behind Le Comber's team-best 15.

In doubles, the Flames have captured 10 wins in league play with five coming at the hands of Le Comber and LeBlanc at No. 1, while the teams of Manole and Zuzu (No. 2) and Sanders and
Stefana Vasic (No. 3) have each notched two wins.

Detroit Mercy comes to Chicago after winning its last three matches in 4-3 finals against Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Oakland. Pauline Van Herck has been the most productive in singles with a 6-1 conference record while Anna Davydova (No. 1) and Nynke Van Der Goot (No. 4) have each added four wins to the team's 22 total. Davydova and Van Der Goot have also taken a team-best three doubles wins in league play as the Titans have seven victories.

UIC holds the upper hand in the all-time series with Detroit Mercy with a 23-3 record while the last four meetings have been split after the Flames took a 5-2 decision last season.

Oakland has gone 1-4 over its last five matches, including its most recent 4-3 loss to Detroit Mercy. Sofia Borcuti has five of the team's 19 conference singles wins, with Amanda Nilsson and Alexandra Whall adding in four apiece. The Golden Grizzlies have taken nine doubles matches against conference foes with Nilsson and Whall combining for three.

UIC and Oakland have met just three times before with the Flames taking the first two meetings before the Golden Grizzlies claimed a 4-3 match last year.
