HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Despite another solid effort from junior
Bailey Bostler, the Flames took a step backward in the team standings Monday at the Horizon League Golf Championship at the Las Colinas course.
Bostler tallied three birdies en route to a 78, good for a 12th place tie as an individual, with one round remaining.
Junior
Courteney Fabbri continued her steady game matching Sunday's 82 to currently stand in a tie for 23rd. Joining her in 23rd place is sophomore
Meghan Kramp, both sitting at a two-round total of 164. Freshman
Brittany Norem shaved 12 strokes off of her opening round score with an 86.
"Simply put, the other teams scored a lot better and we did not," stated Coach
Mat Blair. "Despite the results, when looking at the big picture we are getting better as a team. I'm anxious to get going tomorrow and see how we bounce back."
In the team standings, the Flames slipped back to seventh place (324-332) after the second day of play.
The UIC tee times in Tuesday's conclusion begin at 6:30 a.m. CT.
