CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (11-5, 2-1 HL) will play its final road matches of the regular season this weekend when it heads out to face Wright State (11-10, 2-2 HL) and Northern Kentucky (4-8, 1-3 HL). The Flames will first go up against the Raiders at 10 a.m. CT Saturday at Miamisburg High School in Miamisburg, Ohio, before taking on the Norse at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex in Highland Heights, Ky.

UIC was faced with a single matchup last weekend (April 1) at Valparaiso, who it ousted in a 7-0 final, marking the 10th-consecutive season it has shut out the Crusaders. For the sixth-straight match, the doubles point was awarded to the Flames after they swept all three positions. UIC then headed to singles and secured the final six points in straight-set decisions.

The Flames have racked up 47 wins in singles this season, led on the courts by
Rachel Le Comber (11),
Miranda Rodriguez Diaz de Leon (9) and
Bianca Zuzu (8). Of the wins, 10 have come in conference play with Le Comber turning out a perfect 3-0 mark, as Rodriguez Diaz de Leon and Zuzu have the next best marks of 2-1.

A total of 24 wins have come on the doubles courts with Le Comber and Melike LeBlanc, who have won their last five matches, turning out an 8-3 record all at No. 1, followed by the team of
Georgie Sanders and
Stefana Vasic with a 6-3 mark at No. 3. UIC has won all but one match against conference foes with three victories coming for Le Comber and LeBlanc.

Wright State dropped its last two matches to Youngstown State, 6-1, and Cleveland State, 4-3, after winning three straight against Green Bay, 5-2, South Dakota, 5-2, and Milwaukee, 4-3. Linsey Verstrepen (12), Elaine Cloern (10), Karoline Haller (9) and Haily Morgan (9) have been the key contributors to the Raiders' 60 singles wins. The team has turned out 46 wins in doubles, with Haller and Verstrepen (16) collecting the most wins while at No. 2.

The Flames are a perfect 28-0 in the all-time series with the Raiders after they picked up a 5-2 win last season.

Northern Kentucky enters into competition having dropped its last three matches in close 4-3 decisions to Rhode Island, Cleveland State and Youngstown State, as it is scheduled to face Valparaiso Saturday. The Norse have put together 34 wins in singles, led by Margita Sunjic (9) at No. 1 and Klara Skopac (7) at No. 2. They have seen 12 wins in doubles while using 12 different combinations, with the most effective coming at No. 1 from Sunjic and Skopac with three victories.

UIC is 4-0 all-time against Northern Kentucky, while last season's meeting was the first since 1990 and the Flames came up with the 7-0 sweep.
