BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Three UIC Flames carded their best rounds of the season Saturday en route to shooting a team-low 322 at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Junior
Bailey Bostler's two-over-par 74 paced the way for the UIC. Sophomore
Kelly Sterling fired an 81, and freshman
Brittany Norem's 84 represent the three individual-best scores this spring season. Sophomore
Meghan Kramp posted an 83, and junior
Courteney Fabbri chipped in with an 88 toward the nice team effort.
"We are starting to play well," observed UIC head coach
Mat Blair. "Bailey is starting to putt the ball better and
Kelly Sterling's driver is improving each round. Overall, I am proud of how we're all improving together."
UIC's team score of 322 is good for seventh place in the 10-team field, and it has the Flames only four strokes out of third place. Individually, Bostler is in fourth place after day one with her score of 74.
Round two of the 36-hole event will tee off on Sunday at Stone Ridge.
