CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team will play host the University of Illinois Springfield on Friday, Oct. 12 for a fall dual. The two teams will face off starting at Noon CT at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts.

The Flames opened fall play last weekend at the Wildcat Invite hosted by Northwestern. Freshman Nell Arendt highlighted in singles for the Flames with a win over Columbia's Yekaterina Alferova, 6-2, 6-1, while newcomers Karyna Bihel and Lucie Prochazkova took a 6-4 win versus Utah's Whitney Turley and Leah Heimuli to highlight doubles.

The University of Illinois Springfield is 2-0 so far this fall, sweeping Illinois Wesleyan 7-0 on Sept. 21 and edging past Lindenwood 4-3 on Sept. 22. Friday's match will be the first-ever meeting between the Flames and Prairie Stars.

Following the fall dual, the Flames will participate in the ITA Regionals Oct. 18-22 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
