CHICAGO – UIC women's head coach
Shannon Tully announced on Monday that the Flames will welcome Isabelle Marshall to the squad in the fall of 2019. Marshall hails from the town of Milton Keynes in the UK.
"Izzy Marshall is an excellent student who tops the charts academically," Tully said. "Her dedication to her school work and tennis training stood out to me right away. On court, she is smart strategically and has incredible talent at the net, which is a huge asset to any team. I am looking forward to the opportunity to be her coach in the fall."
Marshall captained the Aylesbury High School team to the squad's first-ever National School Finals in 2018. She also took the Buckinghamshire County 14-and-under team to the national finals two years straight in 2014 and 2015.
In 2015, Marshall won the 14-and-under Aegon Team Tennis National Finals while playing with the Halton Tennis Club. The UK native has been a part of the Buckinghamshire Ladies County team since 2014, including country week in Division I in 2016.
Marshall also boasts many individual achievements, winning the 18-and-under Winter National Tour Finals in February 2018. Marshall was crowned the Bath Grade 2 18-and-under champion in October 2017.
Marshall also owns four National Grade 2 doubles titles in the 14-and-under, 16-and-under and 18-and-under categories. She also had the privilege to serve as a ball girl at the 02 for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals back in 2015.
The future Flame also participated in badminton at Aylesbury, and intends on majoring in Economics at UIC.
