CHICAGO – UIC (0-5-0) will wrap up its stint at home on Sunday when its hosts Illinois State (1-1-2) at Flames Field. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. CT.

UIC is coming off a tough 1-0 loss Wednesday to Indiana State. The Flames held the Sycamores to an opponent-low seven shots while they took 12 of their own from the attack of
Keri Birkenhead,
Rebeca Pallo and
Tamae Douglas. Of the looks that UIC had, just two were put on target by Birkenhead and Pallo.

After being held to 12 shots across their first two matches, the Flames have fired off 39 in the following three for a total of 51 so far this season. Birkenhead (9), Pallo (8),

Tamae Douglas (5) lead the team in attempts while Pallo and Douglas hold a team-high four shots on goal apiece.

Goals have been limited as UIC has just three on the year. Douglas,

Meaghan Smith own the tallies as Pallo and

Tara Khayam has been the goalkeeper at hand. In 453 minutes, she has made 26 saves for the third most among Horizon League keepers while she has allowed 21 goals for a 4.18 goals-against average.

SCOUTING THE REDBIRDS
Illinois State enters the weekend at 1-1-2 with its lone win coming against Eastern Michigan, 1-0. The Redbirds will challenge Miami (Ohio) on Friday night before heading to Chicago.

ISU has attempted 68 shots on the year and put 34 on goal. Natalie Vaughn-Low (9), Kiley Czerwinski (8), Sarah LaFayette (8) and Kate Del Fava (8) lead the way in attempts, while Del Fava has put a team-best six shots on goal. Of the team's five goals, two have been scored by Angel Krell, who has also added one assist for a team-high five points.

Haley Smith has played all but 45 minutes in goal as she owns one shutout, has made 23 saves and allowed seven goals for a 1.77 GAA. Jenny Scara made up the remaining minutes with one save and three goals allowed.

The Redbirds and the Flames met for the first time last season in Bloomington, Ill., and it was ISU who came out on top of the 4-1 final.
