CHICAGO – UIC women's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Sidney Lazenby has earned Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning. This marks the Flames' first conference accolade of the 2026 season, as well as Lazenby's first conference weekly honor.

In her first career start for the Flames, the St. Charles, Ill. native faced off against the Illinois Fighting Illini on Sunday. Holding down the goal, Lazenby made four key saves to keep a clean shutout as the Flames drew with the Illini 0-0 to earn their first point against a Big Ten opponent since 2021.

Lazenby, who made her second career appearance in Sunday's match, has recorded 135 minutes with nine saves on the season so far.

UIC (0-2-2, 0-0 MVC) will be back in action at 6 p.m. (CT) Thursday when they welcome the DePaul Blue Demons to Flames Field for a non-conference match.
