CHICAGO – Coming off its first win of the season, UIC (1-8-0) will look to carry over momentum into its Sunday non-conference matchup in Mount Pleasant, Mich., where it will meet with Central Michigan (2-5-0) for the first time. Kickoff is set for noon CT at the CMU Soccer Complex.

LAST TIME OUT
The Flames claimed their first win of the season and first Horizon League opener in program history Thursday (Sept. 13) when they shut out Detroit Mercy, 2-0.

Emily Kavanaugh scored for UIC as Kavanaugh also added an assist and led the team with eight shots, six of which were on goal.
Haley Leanna made three saves in the match on her way to her first career complete game shutout.

The offense has picked up the pace over the last five games, producing 10-plus shots in each match to aid in their total of 99 on the year. Of those looks, 42 have been on goal while, overall, the Flames have converted eight times.

Keri Birkenhead (12) and Douglas (10) make up more than half of the shot attempts and have combined for 29 of the shots on goal. Kavanaugh not only leads the team in shots, but also in shots on goal (11), points (5) and is tied with Douglas for the top mark in goals (2).

Leanna has played the last 315 minutes in goal, during which time she has made 19 saves and allowed six goals for a 1.71 goals-against average.

SCOUTING THE CHIPPEWAS
Central Michigan will be on a week's rest after last picking up its second win of the year with a 5-0 shutout over Oakland (Sept. 9). The Chippewas defeated Southern Utah, 4-1, earlier in the year before enduring a four-match losing streak.

CMU has put together 74 shots with Lexi Pelafas (28), Madison Costner (12) and Sheila Magnan (11) primarily controlling the production as they have also contributed 25 of the team's 37 shots on goal. Pelafas also leads the scoring effort with six of the Chippewas' 13 goals, as Costner is next in line with three. Shannon Magnan has aided in the scoring with five assists, followed by Maria Kaschalk with three.

As of late, Briann Wallbridge has gotten the call in goal, playing 188 minutes and make five saves while allowing three goals for a 1.44 GAA. However, Morgan Britain has played the most minutes at 450 as she has made 22 stops and allowed 13 goals for a 2.60 GAA.
