CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (1-11, 0-1 HL) will wrap up its first Horizon League road trip of the season on Monday, Dec. 30 as it faces Youngstown State (8-4, 1-0 HL). The Flames and Penguins will square off at 6 p.m. CT inside the walls of Youngstown State's Beeghly Center.

- Freshman Kimeira Burks leads the team in three-point attempts (53), and she ranks second in three-point makes with 11.
- Burks is also the team's runner-up in points (86) and makes (34). She currently sits third on the team in rebounds with 61.
- The Chicago native leads the squad with 15 steals, putting her at 12th in the Horizon League.
- Burks has banked at least one three in seven outings so far.
- The guard led the squad at Cleveland State with nine points, her second-consecutive nine-point appearance.
GETTING DEFENSIVE
- The Flames rank fifth in the Horizon League in shooting defense, with opponents shooting 39.4 percent overall.
- UIC's opposition is shooting 29.7 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks fourth in the Horizon League.
- The Flames also rank fifth in the conference in steals (7.58 per game), second in blocked shots (4.00 per game) and third in defensive rebounds (26.2 per game).
- Three Flames rank in the League's top-15 in steals: Tylah Lampley (6th, 1.5 per game), Kimeira Burks (12th, 1.3 per game), and Abreanna Lake (15th, 1.2 per game).
- Nneji leads the League averaging 1.1 blocks per game more than any other player in the conference. Lampley also comes in the League's top ten, averaging 0.8 blocks per game.
SCOUTING THE PENGUINS
- Youngstown State posted a 75-73 comeback win over IUPUI on Saturday in its Horizon League opener.
- McKenah Peters led the Penguins with a career-high 22 points, while Chelsea Olson (15 points) and Ny'Dajah Jackson (13 points) also turned in double-digit performances.
- The Penguins rank second in the League in scoring offense, averaging 70.2 points per game as a squad. Youngstown State is also the League's runner-up in shooting, making 43.7 percent of its shots overall.
- The Penguins' 9.0 threes per game average leads the conference.
- Youngstown State has the advantage all-time, 21-19, winning the last eight games consecutively. The Penguins last defeated the Flames 83-59 on Feb. 10 at Credit Union 1 Arena.
