Colic earns First Team honors, Bihel & Prochazkova place on Second Team, Tully titled Coach of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League announced its 2019 women's tennis postseason awards on Thursday, with several Flames earning recognition. Lejla Colic was named to the All-Horizon League First Team, Karyna Bihel and Lucie Prochazkova earned All-Horizon League Second Team honors and head coach Shannon Tully was crowned the Horizon League Coach of the Year.

Colic placed on the First Team for the first time in her career after placing on last season's Second Team. The junior finished with a 12-9 record on the dual season with a 7-2 mark against conference opponents, all from the No. 1 position.

Bihel grabs her first Horizon League postseason award after an 11-9 finish this spring, owning a 6-3 record in conference matches. The junior transfer played all but one match from the No. 2 position for the Flames. Prochazkova took home a 14-6 record this season with an 8-1 mark against Horizon League foes to earn Second Team honors, playing primarily at the No.3 spot for the Flames.

Tully takes home her 11th Coach of the Year title at the helm for the Flames, winning her last three consecutively. This season, Tully led UIC to its most wins since 2012 (18) and coached the Flames to their third-straight 8-1 showing in conference play. Under Tully's direction, UIC went without a loss from Feb. 8-April 19 this season, spanning 15 matches.

The No. 1 seeded Flames look ahead to the Horizon League Tournament, which gets underway on Friday, April 26. UIC's No. 1 seed bought it a first-round bye into the semifinals, where they will play Wright State on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. CT.
