CHICAGO – UIC softball's Lexi Watts has been named the NCAA Division I Statistical Champion for Runs per Game, after leading the nation in the category in the 2018-19 season. Watts averaged 1.29 runs per contest to earn the crown, and she finished the season with the fourth-most runs in UIC single-season history, crossing the plate a total of 62 times.

Watts adds the award to a long list of accolades this year, including Horizon League All-League First Team and All-Great Lakes Region First Team honors. The senior is one of just four players in Horizon League history to earn All-League First Team honors all four years.

The Murrieta, Calif. native left her name scattered all across UIC's record book, holding both UIC and the Horizon League's career batting average (.420) and steals record (134). Watts additionally ranks fourth in both Horizon League and UIC history in career hits (298) and second all-time at UIC in career runs scored (201).

Watts took home the nation's top spot in the category comfortably, averaging 1.29 runs per game. The next closest competitors tied for second, averaging 1.20 runs per game, followed by a tie for fourth with an average of 1.15 runs per game.
