Trevor Lane Secures Another All-Star Nod

Former UIC pitcher to play in Eastern League All-Star Game on July 10

TRENTON, N.J. -- Former UIC standout and the 2016 Horizon League Relief Pitcher of the Year Trevor Lane has been named to the Eastern League All-Star Team. The left-handed pitcher and rising prospect in the New York Yankees' organization is a member of the Trenton Thunder and will be a member of the Eastern Division roster.

Lane has been tabbed as a mid-season All-Star in each of his three full professional seasons. In 2018, Lane was an All-Star in the Florida State League as a member of the Tampa Tarpons. In 2017, the North Bend, Wash., native was an All-Star in the South Atlantic League with the Charleston RiverDogs.

This season Lane owns a 1.38 ERA in 39.0 innings pitched for the Thunder. He has 40 strikeouts to only 17 walks and opponents are batting .141 against the southpaw. Lane has been credited with three wins and a save in Trenton.

In his Minor League Baseball career, Lane has a 2.28 ERA in 189.2 IP over 117 relief appearances. He has amassed 207 strikeouts, 13 victories and eight saves. As a collegiate player for the Flames, Lane posted a 2.63 ERA in 39 appearances, including 11 starts. As a senior in 2016, Lane went 8-5 with a 1.41 ERA in 26 appearances covering 70.1 IP. He fanned 90 that season and held opponents to a batting average of .169, while surrendering only 11 earned runs. Lane, a two-time All-Horizon League selection, was was chosen by the Yankees in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

The 2019 Eastern League All-Star Game will take place on Thursday, July 10 at The Diamond, the home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
