CHICAGO – A quartet of UIC women's golfers were recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association Monday (June 29), as Emma Hayes, Shivani Majmudar, Stephanie Mroz and Megan Tang were all named All-American Scholars by the organization. It is the second consecutive year in which the Flames had four student-athletes represented on the list.

In order to be eligible for the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, individuals must have recorded a minimum GPA of 3.5 during the 2019-20 school year and have played in a least 50% of the team's rounds.

Majmudar, a junior, earned her third consecutive All-American Scholar honor after completing her degree this past May, majoring in economics while earning a minor in public policy. The South Barrington, Illinois native fired a season-low round of 83 in the team's final match of the year at the Battle at Boulder Creek and earned a point for the Flames in the opening round of the Motor City Cup match play event with a 4&2 win over her opponent from Oakland.

Mroz, a sophomore from Oak Park, Illinois, earned her second straight All-American recognition this year after competing in every event for the Flames. A history major, Mroz posted three rounds in the 70's, including a season-low 72 in the final round of the Golfweek Program Championship on Sept. 10. The sophomore earned UIC's second point in the Motor City Cup match against Oakland, cruising to a 5&4 win.

Hayes and Tang, both freshmen, each collect the first All-American Scholar honor of their careers. Hayes, a native of Saint Charles, Illinois majoring in integrated health studies and minoring in business administration, posted a season-best round of 77 in the opening round of the Braun Intercollegiate while finishing with a 2-1 record at the Motor City Cup. Tang, who hails from Memphis, Tennessee, recorded four rounds in the 70's, including three consecutive rounds below 80 to begin her collegiate campaign.
