UIC will conclude its two-match homestand Wednesday against Robert Morris.
It will be the first-ever meeting between the Flames (2-0) and Colonials (1-2), who joined the Horizon League last summer. UIC is 2-2 in its last four matches against first-time opponents.
"We just have to focus on what we've been doing and take care of our details,"
Dustin Downey said. Â "We've been working the last month to clean up some things and strategize and focus on what we're good at. Â We have to stay humble and hungry and recognize that every game in this league is going to be tough."
UIC has won via shutout in each of its first two matches. It is the first time in program history that a season has started 2-0, but Downey said that the team is focused on its next challenge.
"The first two matches did build some confidence. After not playing for so long to have a couple under our belt and have a taste of success keeps us hungry to and have that feeling again tomorrow. We have to stay focused and concentrate on the details.  We need to handle everything that we can control to get the best outcome."
The match will begin at 1 pm indoors in Rockford. Spectators are not allowed. Live stats will be available.
