CHICAGO – The UIC women's golf team opens the 2021 fall season Sunday through Tuesday (Sept. 12-14) at the Golfweek Fall Challenge. The Flames are part of a jam-packed field, as 19 teams will join UIC at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.

Caledonia Golf & Fish Club is located on Pawley's Island in South Carolina, with the Par 71 course playing 6,032 yards. The Flames are no stranger to the course, having played in the tournament in each of the last two years.

The Flames return a veteran lineup to the course this season, as all six players return from last year. UIC added one newcomer in freshman Lia Thomas.

At last year's event, which was held in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Flames had a record-setting weekend. Brooke Beyer posted the two lowest rounds in program history at the tournament, firing a school-record 69 in the second round before following up with a 70 in the final round. Beyer would go on to be named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week for her performance.

As a team, the Flames shot rounds of 296 in the second and third rounds of the event last year to set the school record for team low round.
