Flames Cruise to Win Over Bradley

UIC Wins First Six Points, Takes Match 6-1

UIC started fast and nearly swept away Bradley Sunday afternoon at XS Tennis.  The Flames settled for a 6-1 win over their future conference foes.

  • Jover overwhelmed her opponent at #3 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
  • Forste-Dinell also had an easy match, turning in a 6-1, 6-1 win at #6.
  • Malazonia was challenged in the first set before turning up the heat in the second, winning 7-6 (2), 6-2 and clinching the match for UIC.
  • Gustafsson rallied from a set down for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win in the #1 flight.
  • Hrabalova had to play an extra game twice, but successfully fended off a third-set tiebreaker in her 7-5, 7-5 win at #5.
  • Hermanny de Figueiredo got off to a fast start but was unable to complete the clean sweep, as she fell 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-3 at #4.
