UIC rallied after losing the doubles point, and claimed five straight singles matches to down Northern Kentucky, 5-2, in both team's Horizon League opener.
Only a three-set marathon, requiring two tiebreakers, prevented the Flames from winning all six singles matches.Â
The team will return to the courts Sunday to face IUPUI.
