HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Strong rounds by
Megan Tang and
Brooke Beyer allowed the Flames to move up a spot in the standings at the 2022 Horizon League Championship Monday morning. As a team, the Flames improved by 10 strokes from Sunday's first round and sit in eighth place in the team standings.

Individually, Tang led the way for the second consecutive day, carding a 3-over 76.
Brooke Beyer was one shot back with a second-round 77.

"Megan has bene play very consistently the past two weeks," said head coach
Mat Blair. "She is really close to a great round. We struggled to finish the round as a team but will have one final shot tomorrow to get better."

After playing the front nine at four-over, Tang was nearly flawless on the back nine. Tang shot a one-under 37 over the final nine holes, including a birdie on the Par 3 15
th to round out her 3-over round for the day. Tang sits tied

Beyer led all Flames Monday with three birdies on the round, with one coming on the front nine and two on the back. The junior played the front and back nine in matching 9s of 2-over to finish with a 77.

Adrienne Montalone fired an 81 and closed strong, playing the final nine holes at 1-over.
Lia Thomas and
Grace Szklarek posted matching rounds of 82.

The third and final round of the Horizon League Championship will be held on Tuesday, April 26.
