CHICAGO – Five members of the UIC women's golf team were recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), as the 2021-22 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced.
Stephanie Mroz,
Grace Szklarek,
Megan Tang,
Emma Hayes and
Lia Thomas were part of 1,485 women's collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor.

To be eligible for the All-American Scholar Team, individuals must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Mroz earned All-American Scholar Team honors all four years while at UIC. Hayes and Tang were selected to the team for the third year in a row, Szklarek picked up her second consecutive honor while Thomas earned the award in her first year on campus.

The 2021-22 Flames set the school record with 135 birdies on the year while the team set new records for Par 3, Par 4 and Par 5 scoring average. Individually, Tang finished the year with a 77.05 scoring average, just off her record-setting average of 76.94 set last year.
