ALLENDALE, Mich. – UIC's men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up a 17-team meet with another strong performance, finishing the Bill Clinger Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State University, with one tied school record, one event winner and nine personal best times.
WOMEN
- In the 60m, Olivia Dumas tied the school record and recorded a personal-best, crossing the finish in in 7.78 seconds.
- Dumas took fifth for the 200m as well with a time of 25.80.
- Jenna Boyle was the lone event winner for the Flames. She finished the 5000m with a time of 18:20, a new personal best.
- Rosie Campbell-Watt also collected a new personal best with a time of 18:39 in the 5000m, finishing in sixth.
- Nyarai Terry recorded a personal best in the 60m hurdles (9.17) and finished in fourth.
- Bailey Moran's time of 59.58 in the 400m put her in ninth place.
- In the long jump, Natalie Kowalzcuk finished fifth, with a jump of 5.12m.
MEN
- Dathan Maton recorded a personal-best in the 1-mile, finishing in 4:09. That time was two seconds away from being number-two in the UIC record books.
- Maton clocked a new personal best in the 3000m, with a time of 8:40.
- At 6.93, Max Rivera placed fifth in the 60m.
- In the triple jump, Georgios Siomos finished in seventh with a jump of 13.39m.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"Once again we had several team members enter the record books by setting new personal bests and Top-10 All Time performances," said Interim Head Coach Paul Zavala. "We are looking to build momentum going into these next few weeks as we get ready to compete at our first MVC Track & Field Championships next month."
