NASHVILLE, TENN. – The UIC baseball team began its second series of the regular season Friday, as it took on Lipscomb to open a three-game series.

- As they have in two previous games this season, the Flames jumped out to an early lead Friday afternoon, as AJ Henkle belted his second home run of the young season to center field, a solo shot to put UIC ahead 1-0.
- Henkle would come around to score again in the fourth inning, as a Zane Zielinski double down the left field line scored Henkle and Max Farfan to put the Flames up 3-0.
- UIC would add another run in the fourth with Rayth Petersen reaching on a fielder's choice, scoring Zielinski from third base.
- Petersen added to the tally his next trip to the plate, as a two out, two RBI single put UIC firmly in control at 6-0 heading into the home half of the sixth.
- After two Lipscomb solo home runs in the sixth and seventh innings respectively, Bobby Grimes tallied his third RBI of the season with a one out single to left center field, scoring Zielinski.
- Kade Lancour was again stellar on the mound for the Flames in his second start, earning his second victory by going six and two-thirds innings, allowing just two earned runs and striking out four.

The Flames and Bison will continue their series Saturday, as the two teams will face off with a 2:00 p.m. CT first pitch.
Tyler Ingram (1-0) is scheduled to start on the mound for UIC, his second start of the year.
