ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference named UIC's
Dasa Urbankova and
Megan Tang to its women's golf Scholar-Athlete teams Friday afternoon. Â
During her lone season at UIC, Urbankova earned a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team. She began the season by breaking a program record, shooting three-under-par at the Golfweek Fall Challenge in September. This performance gave Urbankova the UIC record for the lowest round and lowest round vs. par at the event. She earned the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week title on four separate occasions and finished the season tied for sixth at the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship. Urbankova graduated from UIC this May with a 4.0 GPA and a master's degree in Kinesiology.
Senior
Megan Tang received honorable mention recognition from the MVC. She started her season with an individual win at the Briar Ridge Invitational in September, tying for first by shooting two-under-par. Tang became the sixth player in UIC's history to win an individual title. She finished the season with three top-five finishes. Tang earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology this May from UIC with a 3.92 cumulative GPA.
This is the second time both Flames have been recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference. In April, the MVC named Tang to its All-Conference team, while Urbankova was named to the All-Conference team and the All-Tournament team.
