VALPO SERIES REVIEW

• UIC clinched a series win against Valparaiso on April 9-10 at the Valpo Softball Complex in Valparaiso, Ind.
• Graduate student Carlee Jo Clark (Carol Stream, Ill./St. Francis/Southern Illinois) took a no-hitter into the eighth inning on April 9 of the Flames' 2-1 nine-inning victory, striking out four batters and allowing just four hits. In the batter's box, Clark collected three hits and an RBI.
• The following day, UIC earned a 4-1 win, as senior Miranda Gomez (Pico Rivera, Calif./Bishop Amat) pitched her second complete game of the season, allowing four hits and striking out five. Junior Hailey Cowing (Torrance, Calif./West Torrance) tallied two doubles and two RBI.
• The Beacons are in search of their first win since beating Belmont, 4-2 on April 6.

 
LAST TIME OUT: DRAKE

• The Flames went 1-2 last weekend against MVC foe Drake (21-23, 9-12 MVC) during an eventful Alumni Weekend at Flames Field.
• Clark led the Flames to an 8-7 victory on Saturday, pitching 6.1 innings and holding Drake to three runs through six innings before tiring in the seventh. She also collected two hits and an RBI.
• Redshirt freshman Cameran Rios (Effingham, Ill./St. Anthony) tallied three hits in Saturday's win. She legged out a triple, added a pair of singles, stole a base and scored twice.
• Juniors Larissa Ortiz (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville/Wisconsin) and Jojo Santiago (Channahon, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) each hit two-run doubles in the win.
