CHICAGO (May 13, 2024) – The UIC women's basketball team welcomed another transfer for the 2024-25 season, as head coach Ashleen Bracey announced the signing of guard Arin Freeman (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock/Coastal Carolina) on Monday. Freeman is the third student-athlete to commit to the Flames during the offseason, most recently Julia Coleman (St. Louis, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy/Texas State) on May 3 and then Jalysa Stokes (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Central/UMSL) on April 26. Both guards, Stokes and Freeman, bring with them one year of eligibility, whereas Coleman will have three years to suit up for the Flames.

"I am thrilled to welcome Arin Freeman to the Flames family," Bracey said. "Arin is a scoring combo guard with an elite level of athleticism and explosiveness. She is a relentless defender and, most importantly, a fierce competitor. Arin is driven to pursue excellence in the classroom, on the court, and in the community. She is committed to our vision here at UIC and is willing to do what it takes to help elevate this program to championship caliber."
