PEORIA, Ill. – UIC had its final meet before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship at the Pink Classic, hosted by Bradley University on Friday, October 18. The men placed third out of 21 teams in the 8,000m race, while the women finished 18th out of 24 teams in the 6,000m.
 
Top Finishers
Men
 

• Junior Theodore Cunningham placed 11th in a time of 24:24.
• Sophomore Zac Close placed 15th in a time of 24:27.
• Senior Alex Bacci finished 24th in a time of 24:41.

 
Women
 

• Sophomore Emma Dubie set a new personal best with a time of 22:03.
• Sophomore Indigo Sterud set a new personal best with a time of 22:23.
• Junior Isabela Garcia finished in a time of 22:30.

 
COACH'S COMMENTS
"Today we had very strong performances within both of our programs along with several personal bests,"  said head coach Paul Zavala. "I'm excited with the development of our team throughout the season and will be ready to have a great team performance at the MVC Championships in two weeks."
