CHICAGO– The UIC women's basketball team (6-6, 1-0 MVC) couldn't complete the fourth-quarter comeback, falling short to Austin Peay (6-2, 0-0 ASUN), 59-48 in front of the home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena Saturday afternoon. The Flames close out nonconference play 5-6 overall.
Redshirt-sophomore
Julia Coleman netted 13 points, dished out five assists and grabbed five rebounds in 37 minutes of play. Graduate student
Sara Zabrecky sank four three-pointers to finish the game with 12 points. Senior
Jessica Carrothers scored eight points, stole the ball twice and grabbed two rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench.

- Redshirt-freshman Magdalena Winter shot 88.9% from the field to finish out the week averaging nine points and six rebounds in the past two games.

After the holidays, the Flames return to Credit Union 1 Arena to host Drake (2-8, 1-0 MVC) in their Missouri Valley Conference home opener. Tip-off is scheduled for noon (CT).
