CHICAGO — The UIC women's basketball team (6-8, 1-2 MVC) battled down to the final seconds but came up just short in a 75-74 loss to Northern Iowa (7-6, 3-0 MVC) in front of the home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena.
Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman led the Flames with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists. Senior
Jessica Carrothers, held scoreless in the first half, finished with 17 points, eight assists and a team-high five rebounds. Sophomore guard
TuTu Clayton added 16 points and two assists.

- There were five lead changes in the final two minutes, including two go-ahead baskets by Carrothers.
- Clayton's 16-point performance tied her career high, matching her total from UIC's win at Ball State on Nov. 24.
- After hitting one 3-pointer against the Panthers, graduate Sara Zabrecky is one triple shy of 10th all time in program history, trailing Robyn Francati (1985–89) at 115.
- Carrothers' eight assists set a new Flames season high.
