SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (March 12, 2025) – The UIC softball team (4-19) is set to open Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play this weekend in a 3-game series against the Missouri State Bears (1-18) between March 13-15. 

The only live-streamed game of the weekend will take place on Friday, March 14th, at 3:00 PM CT on ESPN+. Live stats for every game will be available on UICFlames.com.

HISTORY VS MISSOURI STATE 

The Flames and Bears have only met three times, all of which took place during the 2023 season. UIC will look to get their first win over Missouri State this weekend as the Bears lead the series 3-0.  

LAST WEEKEND AT THE HOOSIER CLASSIC 

• The Flames were able to put up some runs over the weekend but could not come away with a victory.  

• Jojo Santiago (Channahon, Ill. / Joliet Catholic Academy) had another impressive weekend as she led the team with a .400 AVG after going 6-of-15 with a triple, a home run, four runs, two RBIs, and a .733 SLG%. Santiago's home run against Bowling Green marked the second home run of her career.  

• Sequoia Sanchez (Corona, Calif. / Roosevelt) went 4-of-12 over the weekend with a.333 AVG, one double, and four runs.
