CHICAGO, IL. (March 17th, 2025) – Making their appearance on Flames Field for the first time in 2025, the UIC softball team is set to host crosstown rival, the DePaul University Blue Demons, in a 4:00 PM contest. The Flames (4-11, 0-3 MVC) will look to break into the win column while the Blue Demons (11-13, 1-5 BIG EAST) look for their second win in a row.  Live stream will be available on ESPN+, while live stats will be available on UICFlames.com

HISTORY VS DEPAUL 

The two Chicago teams hold a deep history dating back to before 1991, with their last meeting on Apr. 6th, 2022, on Flames Field. DePaul took home the victory that day, 16-6 in six innings.  

• DePaul leads the series 58-33 

• Flames last win against the Blue Demons came on April 26th, 2017 

LAST WEEKEND VS MISSOURI STATE 

• The Flames began Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play over the weekend when they took on the Missouri State Bears. The three-game series saw the Bears sweep the Flames. 

• Game one: Missouri State 4, UIC 3 

• Game two: Missouri State 13, UIC 3 (5 innings) 

• Game three: Missouri State 15, UIC 1 (5 innings)  

• Jojo Santiago (Channahon, Ill. / Joliet Catholic Academy) led the Flames for the series with a .571 AVG after going 4-of-7 with one run and one RBI. 

• Dee Dee Caskey (Indianapolis, Ind. / Bishop Chatard) ended the week with a .400 AVG after going 4-for-10 with a double, three runs, and one RBI.
