The Flames opened Missouri Valley Conference play over the weekend, taking one out of three from Southern Illinois on the road in Carbondale.

• The Flames rank 23^rd in the NCAA this season in triples, as they have tallied two on the year to lead the Missouri Valley Conference.
• The Huskies lead the all-time series 33-29 over UIC, with a total of two matchups between the sides scheduled for 2025.
• The UIC bullpen has shown signs of improvement over the last 10 days, jumping up to seventh in the MVC as a staff in terms of ERA (8.50).
• Reece Lawler was named to the Missouri Valley Preseason All-Conference Team, and the Flames were picked to finish seventh in the conference in a league-wide release last week.
