CHICAGO (April 18 , 2025) – Women's Basketball head coach
Ashleen Bracey announced her first transfer to arrive to UIC for the 2025-26 season, with incoming senior Amelia Strong set to join the Flames after three seasons at Niagara University.
"We are thrilled to welcome Amelia to our Flames family,"
Bracey said. "Milly comes to us with three years of college playing experience. She has been a part of a winning culture at Niagara that advanced to a tournament championship game, followed by competing in the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). She is a strong presence inside with an incredible knack for rebounding. Milly is a high character, motivated young lady that will be an incredible addition to our family. Her maturity, leadership, and motor will most definitely put her in position to make an immediate impact here at UIC."
A Niagara Falls native, Strong played 73 games, starting in 49 of them in front of her hometown with the Purple Eagles. She finished her junior season with her best offensive production yet of her collegiate career, averaging 9.7 points per game. In the 16 games she played this season, she collected double figures across eight games, including a season-high 16 points against Marist on Feb. 22.

In the 73 games she dawned a Purple Eagles uniform, Strong collected four double-digit rebound performances, and had 5-plus offensive rebounds across nine games in her collegiate career.
Prior to her time at Niagara, Strong was a three-year varsity starter out at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Tonawanda, N.Y.
