Chicago, Ill. – Hosting their final non-conference game of the 2025 season, the UIC softball teams welcomed the Northwestern University Wildcats on the evening of Tuesday, April 22nd. In their first meeting at Flames Field since 2005, the Wildcats came away with the victory, defeating the Hawks 11-0 in five innings.
RECAP
Neither team collected a hit in the first two innings before the Wildcats got action going in the top of the third inning with a two-run inning, including a home run. The Flames were able to get two runners on in the bottom of the inning, but were unable to bring them in, leaving the score at 2-0 in favor of the visitors. Momentum continued to swing in favor of the Wildcats as they put up an eight-run fourth inning. The Wildcats added one final run in the top of the fifth, sealing an 11-0 victory over the Flames.

The Flames return to Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) action this weekend when they hit the road to take on the Indiana State University Sycamores in a three-game series between April 25-27 in Terre Haute.
