NORMAL, Ill. – The UIC baseball team (20-31, 16-11 MVC) will begin play in the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Championship on Wednesday, as the no. 4 seeded Flames will take on no. 3 seed Southern Illinois.

FLAMES FACTS

• The Flames and Salukis finished in a tie for third in the final 2025 MVC standings, with the Salukis earning the three seed based on the results of the three-game series between the two teams March 21-22, when SIU took two of three games from UIC in a tightly contested series.
• The Flames finished the conference season incredibly strong, surging up the standings winning 11 of their final 15 MVC contests.
• In Missouri Valley Conference games this season, the Flames rank fourth in team batting average with a .293 mark, and second in team ERA at 5.19.

POST-SEASON HONORS

• UIC was well represented in the post-season Missouri Valley Conference Awards, with three players earning various honors.
