CHICAGO – UIC's men and women's tennis teams continue to shine on the tennis courts and in the classroom as both were named as 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Teams. Additionally, seven Flames scholar-athletes were awarded Scholar-Athlete distinction.

This is the seven consecutive year the women's tennis team has been recognized, maintaining a collective 3.57 GPA. The men's team earned recognition for the fourth consecutive year in a row after holding a 3.43 GPA. For a team to be considered, they must have a GPA average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale).

Four members of the men's tennis team were recognized for their work in the classroom over the 2024-25 academic year: Daksh Agrawal (3.72 GPA), Pedro Romano Franca (3.87 GPA), Simon Knezevic (3.73 GPA) and Eldin Nokic (3.9 GPA). Camille Belberka (3.5 GPA), Edit Cosmo (4.0 GPA) and Marta Halberzstadt (4.0 GPA) from the UIC women's tennis team that were honored. To be considered, student-athletes must be at a 3.50 GPA or above (4.0 scale) for the academic year.

Both programs are coming off a strong 2024-25 season on the court. The women's team secured UIC's first team championship in the Missouri Valley Conference this past April, collecting the team's 20th conference title in program history. The men's team made a push into the Mid-American Conference Semifinals with a 16-6 overall record, highlighted by a 10-match winning streak between Feb. 7-March 15.
