CHICAGO – The UIC men's and women's cross country teams will kick off the 2025 season on Friday morning at the Fighting Illini Open, hosted by the University of Illinois. The meet will take place at the Orange and Blue Golf Course in Savoy, Ill., with the women's 4,000-meter race starting at 11 a.m. CT, followed by the men's 6,000-meter race at 11:30 a.m. CT.
The Flames will compete against several Missouri Valley Conference programs, including Southern Illinois, Illinois State, and Bradley. This marks the first time UIC has participated in a cross country invitational hosted by the University of Illinois.
UIC returns six of its top seven performers from last season on both the men's and women's sides, bringing depth and experience into the season opener.
