CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team released its 2025-26 nonconference schedule Thursday afternoon, jam-pack with strong competition before the Flames enter their fourth season in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Ashleen Bracey enters her fourth season as the head coach at UIC after a 15-18 campaign in 2024-25, including 10-10 against members of The Valley. She led the Flames to their second-consecutive WNIT appearance and third-consecutive postseason appearance, making history with a 63-48 win over UAB in front of the home crowd on Mar. 21, the program's first WNIT victory.
UIC welcomes 10 newcomers in 2025-26, including five transfers. The group is led by guard
Jessica Carrothers, the reigning NAIA National Player of the Year and the nation's leading scorer at 31.4 points per game, along with
Jaya McClure, an All-Mid-American Conference standout during three seasons at Ohio. A presence on the boards, senior
Amelia "Milly" Strong collected 276 rebounds in her time at Niagara, with 159 of those boards coming on the offensive side.
Key games include traveling to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to face off against Big Ten's Indiana, home matchups against Wisconsin, and crosstown rival in DePaul. UIC will also be traveling to New York to compete in Iona's Thanksgiving tournament over the holiday.
