EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A slow first quarter start couldn't stop the UIC women's basketball team (8-9, 3-3 MVC) for earning a hard-fought 66-48 Missouri Valley Conference victory against Evansville (4-13, 2-4 MVC) at Meeks Family Fieldhouse Friday night.
Senior
Jessica Carrothers led all scorers with 25 points, five assists and two rebounds. Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman secured a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Graduate student
Sara Zabrecky and junior
Grace Harris each scored six points, sinking four triples a piece.

- After her 25-point performance, Carrothers is just 84 points shy of reaching 2,000 career points across the NCAA and NAIA levels.
- The team shot a season-best 54.7 percent from the field, topping its previous high of 54.5 percent in the December win over DePaul.
- Coleman recorded her second double-double of the season and her first since posting 16 points and 11 rebounds in the November victory over Loyola.
- Zabrecky has knocked down 27 three-pointers this season, tying her for ninth in the MVC.
