CARBONDALE, ILL. – The UIC women's basketball team (8-10, 3-4 MVC) went toe-to-toe with Southern Illinois (5-12, 2-6 MVC), ultimately falling short to the Salukis, 63-58 Sunday afternoon at the Banterra Center.
Senior
Jessica Carrothers led all scorers with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman collected 16 points, five steals and five rebounds. Sophomore
TuTu Clayton netted 10 points and five rebounds across 31 minutes of play.

- Carrothers is only 62 points from surpassing 2,000 career points during her time on both the NCAA and NAIA levels.
- Five steals is a new career-high for Coleman, surpassing her three-steal mark she set numerous times, last against Ohio on Dec. 5.
- After her 10-point performance, Clayton has scored double figures in eight games for the Flames.
- The battle went back-and-forth with the Salukis, seeing the game tied nine separate times across 40 minutes of play.

The Flames finally return to Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night, when they take on Illinois State (10-8, 4-3 MVC). Tip-off is scheduled at 7 p.m. (CT).
