SOUTH BEND, Ind. — UIC track and field closes out the regular season Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invite, hosted by the University of Notre Dame inside the Loftus Sports Center.

Field events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET, followed by track events at 11:15 a.m. ET. Live results will be available at Endurance Race Timing.

The meet serves as the final tune-up before the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships, set for March 1-2.

Flames to Watch

On the men's side, Jahri McClendon and Christian Valadez are slated to compete in the 400 meters as they look to sharpen their form heading into the conference meet.

For the women, Deja Richardson will race in the 60 meters, while Indigo Steered is entered in the mile.

Last Time Out

UIC is coming off its third split-squad weekend of the indoor season, competing at Grand Valley State's Big Meet and the Blue Demon Alumni Classic. Across the two competitions, the Flames combined for 20 personal bests and 11 top-10 all-time indoor performances, highlighted by a school record.

On the women's side, Isabela Garcia placed fifth in section four of the 5,000 meters at Grand Valley State in 17:52.16, while Jadie Chavez clocked 18:23.57 in the same section. At the Blue Demon Alumni Classic, Korima Gonzalez led the way with a ninth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:13.42). Carissa Uy recorded the sixth-best indoor long jump mark in program history at 11.02 meters, and Emma Dubie finished 13th in the 3,000 meters (10:08.61).

For the men, Theodore Cunningham set a school record in the mile at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic, finishing third in 4:06.12. In the 3,000 meters, Alex Bacci and Zac Close placed fifth and sixth with times of 8:19.77 and 8:21.77, respectively — marks that rank fourth and fifth all-time in UIC indoor history.

Following Saturday's competition, UIC will turn its attention to the MVC Indoor Championships as the Flames look to build on a series of record-setting and top-10 performances to close out the indoor campaign.
